In 2024 Nataša joined the Fellowship for British Hairdressing and took a part in a year-long project following her passion in working with natural textured hair. Project Afro led by Jacqui McIntosh gave her a wide range of different approaches and experiences to explore.
Nataša as usual spent much of her time actively researching the programme curriculum taking extra engagements and opportunities outside of the curriculum provided by the Fellowship, and by providing photo, video and written material archiving much coverage in the trade press.
As a team of three, this was a unique opportunity to receive bespoke education and training. The team’s job was to go on this journey together and by the end of the journey produce a high quality hair collection for the industry magazines, indeed Nataša had the front cover! We are so proud of her.
Their mentor Jacqui opened the door to the world of textured hair with collaborations with fellow masters of textured hair. Starting from the basics of hair and scalp, this intense program includes smoothing systems, colouring, styling and silk pressing, braiding, wig making, public speaking, photography, photoshoot planning…
On the evening of the project’s finale, Nataša received an exciting nomination from her mentor for a hairdresser who has made significant contributions to both the team and the industry. This nomination was accepted by the Fellowship for British Hairdressing and Nataša Stantić Brajović was awarded by the hairdressing industry as the Afro Hairdresser of the year. This prestigious accolade is granted as a special honour to the best of the best.
Nataša is our salon Afro – textured hair expert, her work is within the salon and her wish is to educate and inspire our apprentices to become skilled professionals in every aspect of hair.
