LFW AW22: Nightlife & Glamour

London Fashion Week (LFW) takes place twice a year, in February and September. Showcasing over 250 Designers to a global audience of influential media and retailers, it’s one of the ‘Big Four’ fashion weeks, along with the New York, Milan and Paris, setting trends in Hair, Fashion and Beauty for the coming season.

Five days of haute couture, five shows attended, and five top magazine showcases for the work of the session team at Andrew Jose.

Day One

Maria, Evelina and Natasha, along with other hair and makeup members behind the catwalk (including the makeup show crew for the Netflix smash, Glow Up, create a time capsule for the inspirational Maria Kovacs, who is also a session styling teacher at our academy.

Her hair designs enhanced the eclectic – and ever youthful – Mark Fast AW22 collection, more than a nod to the crowded clubbing scene of the late 90s, the final looks well suited to the huge basement venue, illuminated with neon tubes in Soho’s ‘Vinyl Factory’.

Vogue, Elle and Glass Magazine celebrated Maria’s looks straight after the show. The hairstyles are in the top 10 looks of the LFW AW22 show’s and an enduring inspiration for many photographers and artists.

Day Two

Natasha is back in the busy salon, Evelina and Maria are at two different locations.

Evelina assisting Sam McKnight at the Halpern Studio show that was simultaneously  showcased by Elle and The Glass Magazine, another time travel to late 70s / early 80s: Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface with that beautiful swinging polished bob and Marsha Hunt inspiring the afro looks as a touch of high octane sexy glamour with a touch of nightlife. Maria created her signature contemporary, expensive looking, polished natural hair for L Saha luxury show in Mayfair.

Day Three

Evelina and Maria, again, on a very artistic and futuristic journey that attracted a lot of attention from Vogue, WWD magazine, Forbes magazine.

Hair designs created for 16 Arlington fashion brand hair design by Sam McKnight with Evelina assisting, inspired by the lightness and print of the clothes.

Feather-light strands of hand painted, coloured hair pieces were matched to the prints added to the weightless silken hair to float featherlike down the runway.

The Slovak Fashion Council presented  Fashion Scout X Lone Design Club featuring emerging designers FAMALE and Sofia Tureková. Maria chose hair designs with a futuristic focus on construction and fabrication.
