Andrew Jose: Life Through a Lens

Reprinted: Hairdressing Journal Magazine (HBJ), August 2022

A career spanning over three decades, Andrew Jose brings a wealth of expertise to the role of editorial ambassador for Revlon Professional.

1. Model behaviour

The model Lorraine Pascale credits me with helping her launch her as a model. I convinced the girl from Oxford to cut off her hair and it was the start of her career and our friendship.

2. Summer Solstice

We have shot two collections a year for over thirty years. I wanted an intense almost Super 8, 1970’s feeling to this collection – this was shot by the very able Alex Barron Hough.

3. Global Insight

This was my first shoot for Schwarzkopf Professional as their global ambassador for education – it was a role I actually ended up being in for seven years.

4. Zipped Up

This was a Select model, and we shot her in her free time. I love the clothes styling and how it brings all the attention to the hair.

5. Mission Impossible

Back in the day I read that the 1960’s TV Series Mission Impossible was being turned into a film – and this image (a series of four) was my Mission Impossible collection.

6. Summer Breeze

I love street shoots and Gary Halliday proved that you don’t need a studio to get the shot. All you need is an even light, soft styling and a gentle breeze!

7. The Twins

The twins first came to the salon as a bump in my client’s womb!

Here they are all grown up, and it’s just wonderful how beauty touches us all at different times.
