Milan Fashion Week AW26 Review

Milan delivered. AW26 was a season that felt less like a forecast and more like a statement – designers leaning into identity, craft, and the kind of dressing that doesn’t ask for permission. From Fendi’s quiet precision to Dolce & Gabbana’s unapologetic glamour, the collections moved between restraint and excess with real conviction. Hair and fashion spoke the same language throughout: polished where it needed to be, textured where it wanted to breathe. Here’s what stood out…

Fendi

Bobs, wet looks, and high ponytails dominated the runway. For men, the MOD haircut stood out. When worn natural, hair was polished and defined. The mood was minimal – black tones, rounded silhouettes, and elevated everyday pieces. Modern luxury isn’t about noise; it’s about clarity, collaboration, and clothes designed to endure.

Prada

Beautiful, long, healthy tresses – reminiscent of Monica Bellucci – set the tone. Textured bobs, effortless hair-ups, and natural afro hair worn out and slightly polished. Curls were enhanced and celebrated. Suede and rich, timeworn textures added depth. The feeling was of what a strong woman would wear every day. Hair and clothes were in dialogue – a balance between classic restraint and subtle excess. Luxury here is not fragile; it evolves with time.

At Prada’s second show, the mood shifted toward romanticism. Afro-curly hair was worn out, polished, and intelligent. The narrative centred on transformation and layering – clothes and hair working together. The message was about unlayering: removing garments, softening hairstyles, revealing identity as a statement of constant change and a woman rebuilding herself, look after look.

Gucci

Hair-ups in every form – polished, textured, feathered, natural, elegant. For men, layered and textured cuts brought a nostalgic yet modern feel. Hair worn down was precise, polished, and confident. Bold clothing dominated: black, gold, sparkle. Between the shows, we saw double denim, blue and grey tones, oversized blazers, strong leather pieces, leopard-print details, and mini dresses and skirts.

GCDS

Strong haircuts, bold colours, defined curls, beautifully finished hair.

Ferragamo

White, purple, and muted grey tones. Hair was highly polished, with accentuated partings and strong fringes – a refined, controlled finish.

Dolce & Gabbana

Glamour, glamour, glamour. No nostalgia – just presence and identity. Black lace, razor-sharp tailoring, sensuality. Corseted silhouettes, sheer layers, crisp white shirting, dark sunglasses. Drama without apology. Hair carried texture, with enhanced curls adding depth.
